Popular PI ques and How to Answer them

Tell me something about yourself?/ Introduce yourself

In most of the classes they will ask you to keep your answer to this question KISS (keep it simple and short). I would say that it is the most stupid thing to do.

This is an opportunity to turn the things in your favour for entire GD. Show the panel all the points you want to. Answer to this ques should last for around 1 to 1.5 mins.

Follow a particular order while answering this question. The order will be as follows:

• Name
• School
• Graduation
• Post Grad (if applicable)
• Work ex (latest the last)
• Your achievements during work life (come to this as fast as possible, as more or less your marks of interview will depend on this)
• Your achievements during college (only if time permits)

After you give them an introduction of your graduation use lines like “Throughout my career I have tried to keep a balance between my academic and extra/cocuricular activities”

List down 3 achievements in your life

If u are prepared with this question u can answer several other questions like “why should we select you”, “How are you different from other candidates” etc....

To help you all out, I will list down my career achievements here:

1. I was proposed to be an acting team lead and guide for team of 7 in just two months of my first job at TCS in 2007.
2. Awarded ‘Pat on The Back’ for excellent query handling from Business manager Joanne Archer of Roche Pharmaceuticals during in 2008 in TCS.
3. Increased the sale of an OTC drug  by around 35% through excellent marketing skills and its application in 2008 while working in Retail Pharmacy.

For all the fresher’s list down achievements like if you have won/ taken part in any quiz, if you have organized any event. See it is not necessary you have done all this you can say it but know the things about it so that you ready to defend any question that comes forward.

You can also say you have worked in an NGO, or you have organized blood camps etc. if you have not ask your friends if they have and get the details like how many litres of Blood was collected, what is the volume of blood collected per donor and how many volunteers came to donate the blood etc.

Moreover if you notice while I mentioned my achievements I have given years every time, do that in an interview, always talk in numbers and years this is what a manager is expected to know.

If you mention about managing an event during your college be acquainted with the number of students in the event, number of programmes in an event, number of sponsors, amount paid by the sponsors  and their name etc.
